Best Mascara Reviews

This may seem a tad strange for 30 Minute Martha to tackle, but what quicker way to polish your look than a coat of mascara? Even when I don’t have time for whole spit-and-polish, I throw on a coat of the black goopy stuff and feel like I’m good to go.

Over the past four or five years, I’ve been committed to Maybelline Great Lash in brownish-black.

But I have had to wonder if I’ve been missing something. After all, in the past five years, we’ve seen the introduction of the iPhone, the iPad, and Jersey Shore — so who’s to say what kind of advancements have been made in the world of mascara??

I put out a tweet to my buds to see what everyone else is using to plump their lashes. You wouldn’t believe the variety of answers I got. I thought I’d throw them out here and see if you have anything to add. I’ll keep you updated over the upcoming weeks as I test these out and find a new (or an old!) favorite!

I love Neutrogena Healthy Volume / Healthy Lashes. My eyelashes tend to ‘wear down’ from regular mascaras, but this one I wear everyday and it seems to strengthen them. Then when I go out for a special occasion, I can wear one of the more fancy ones.

MAC new “False Eyelashes”… Fabulous !

Great Lash is such a crummy mascara. I think the only reason the magazines rave about it is because Maybelline throws $$ at them.

My favorite mascara is Cover Girl Lash Exact. It was recommended to me by a makeup artist who works for an exclusive boutique cosmetics line. She said it’s not worth paying $20+ for department store mascaras. Especially since you should replace the mascara every 2-3 months.

I love Clinique Mascaras. My fave was the long pretty lashes, but it’s discontinued now. http://reviews.clinique.com/3813/PROD636/clinique-long-pretty-lashes-mascara-reviews/reviews.htm

My big tip is to buy Clinique stuff (i use their 3 step) when the gifts are on and use the sample mascaras – that way I can justify throwing them away after a couple of months!

I prefer a mascara that isn’t on your list. I use Almay one coat nourishing mascara because is hypoallergenic. Very important to me.

If I BUY mascara it’s the pink and green tube for sure. But I’m with Melissa… I normally use the free-with-purchase Clinique mascara. And if it’s not Bonus Time, I always ask for samples. Nine times out of ten, they give me a tube of mascara. So, personally, FREE mascara is my preferred choice. It works just fine for my lashes! :)

I use Rimmel London mascara. Depending on what kind of lash I want. The MAX for big lashes and if I want just a lengthening look with some curl I go for Lycra Lash Extender. Great Price. Great Product!

Falsies sister Collosal is also great! I love me some Loreal Voluminous too. Hate the “Naturale” version of that one though… and I just accidently bought it. Ugh!

I use blinc – http://www.blincinc.com/mascara.php – it puts little tubes around your lashes. very cool stuff.

I love lash lengthening and thickening mascara for evenings out but my everyday favourite is “kiss me”. It gives defined, non-clumpy lashes. It’s soooo easy to remove.

(Debbie – I’ve just done a search and it’s marketed in the States as blincinc!)
