Kids can be incredibly picky when it comes to food. But no matter how old they get, one thing my kids won’t refuse is pasta with butter and cheese. Here’s what I do to try to add a little “somethin’-somethin’” to jazz up their dinner, so I can pretend I’m feeding them gourmet fare:

Kid-Friendly Pasta with Cheese

Here’s what you’ll need:

  • 1 15-oz. “box” chicken broth
  • 1 lb. pasta (penne is a big favorite! I choose whole wheat organic when possible)
  • Fresh-greated parmesan cheese
  • Chopped fresh parsley

Here’s what you need to do:

Cook the pasta according to the package directions, but use the chicken broth instead of water (cooking the pasta in broth gives it a little more zip). Drain, add fresh cheese and parsley and serve.
