Mirrors are the most looked-at item in your bathroom, so start your cleaning routine where it’ll make the most impact. According to Woman’s Day, here’s how to get your mirrors sparkling clean in less than five minutes:

1. Use warm water and a sponge (not a cloth) to scrub off all the big streaks.

2. Mix 1 part white vinegar with five parts warm water.

3. Dip crumpled newspaper* in the mixture, and wipe in big circles, using new sheets of newspaper as needed.

4. Wipe the mirror with a dry piece of newspaper to finish it off.

*Just the regular ole’ Sunday paper is fine… see, you’re going green AND getting clean!

Great tip, I’ll have to give it a try. Always felt like it was counter intuitive to use newspaper to clean seeing how it always leaves such a mess on my hands. Guess I was wrong!

I’m a firm believer in the vinegar and water mix to clean mirrors and windows. I haven’t bought a bottle of windex in over 10 years! I forgot about the newspaper thing, too. I think I heard that in Queen of Clean or something. Thanks for the tip!

I use a microfibre (sorry, microfiber!) cloth and water, nothing else. I spray a little water on the mirror and polish with the cloth. No streaks! No dirty newspaper hands! Sparkling clean mirror! :)
